The Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) in Abu Dhabi has unveiled its service schedule for the upcoming Eid Al Fitr holidays, ensuring a smooth commute for residents and visitors alike. The announcement comes as residents across the UAE gear up for the festivities, which are expected to run from April 8th to 14th, 2024.
Public bus services within the emirate will continue to operate according to their regular timetables. However, the ITC has emphasized an increase in the frequency of regional bus trips to cater to the anticipated surge in demand during the celebratory period. This adjustment aims to minimize wait times and ensure residents can conveniently visit family and friends across different areas.
For those seeking intercity travel options, the ITC has collaborated with private sector operators to bolster the number of intercity bus services. This collaborative effort anticipates the rise in demand for travel between Abu Dhabi and other emirates during the Eid break.
Abu Dhabi's popular express bus services, including Abu Dhabi Express and Abu Dhabi Link, will also operate on a modified schedule throughout the holidays. These services will run from 6:00 am to 11:00 pm, providing extended hours compared to their usual timings. This extended operation offers residents greater flexibility when planning their Eid journeys.
The ITC has also announced free parking across all surface parking zones within Abu Dhabi throughout the Eid Al Fitr holidays. This move aims to ease the financial burden on residents and visitors while encouraging them to utilize public transportation options. Additionally, toll charges at the Darb toll gate system will be waived during the holiday period, further enhancing convenience for motorists.
While customer happiness centers operated by the ITC will be closed during the holidays, residents can still access a variety of services online through the ITC website, Darbi and Darb apps, and the TAMM platform. The unified service support center will also remain operational 24/7 to address any urgent queries or requests for assistance.
The ITC's comprehensive service schedule for the Eid Al Fitr holidays reflects its commitment to facilitating seamless travel for the community. By implementing these adjustments, the transport authority aims to ensure a stress-free and enjoyable travel experience for all during this significant festive period.
