The Ajman Business Women Council (AJBWC) and the Serbian Businesswomen Council (SBC) recently joined forces to explore avenues for amplifying collaboration and knowledge exchange. The economic delegation from Serbia, led by Brankica Simanic, Director of the Entrepreneurship Division, convened with the AJBWC at their headquarters in the Ajman Centre for Entrepreneurship on November 10th, 2022.
Dr. Amna Khalifa Al Ali, Board Member of the Ajman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) and Chairwoman of the AJBWC, extended a warm welcome to the delegation. She underscored the significance of the meeting in fostering stronger ties between businesswomen in Ajman and Serbia. Dr. Al Ali emphasized the AJBWC's commitment to forging new partnerships and establishing open communication channels to bolster the services and initiatives offered to their female entrepreneurs. She highlighted the Council's dedication to providing innovative and proactive support that aligns with the aspirations of both male and female entrepreneurs.
The discussions revolved around exploring potential partnerships, exchanging best practices, and identifying initiatives that could empower female entrepreneurs and propel the growth of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). The AJBWC presented an overview of their services, including the "Bidayat License" program, designed specifically to support female business owners and home-based entrepreneurs in launching their ventures. Details regarding the Council's membership structure, encompassing silver, gold, platinum, and honorary categories, were also shared. The presentation delved into the AJBWC's participation in prominent specialized exhibitions throughout the year and their collaborative efforts with various stakeholders within and beyond the UAE. The delegation from Serbia was briefed on the Council's international outreach programs, including business visits undertaken to explore new markets.
Maja Antolovic, Head of Serbia Business Hub Dubai affiliated with the Chamber of Serbia, actively participated in the discussions. The Serbian representatives expressed keen interest in learning more about the Ajman business environment and the opportunities it presents for Serbian enterprises, particularly those spearheaded by women. They were particularly impressed by the AJBWC's dedication to empowering female entrepreneurs and fostering a supportive business ecosystem.
The meeting concluded with a commitment from both parties to explore concrete areas for collaboration. The potential for joint ventures, participation in trade missions, and knowledge-sharing workshops were all identified as avenues for future cooperation. This strategic dialogue is anticipated to pave the way for a stronger UAE-Serbia economic relationship, with women entrepreneurs playing a pivotal role in driving this growth.
