Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, the Ruler of Sharjah, officially opened the Al Hefaiyah Lake to the public on Saturday, March 31st. The lake, situated along the Sharjah-Kalba Road following the Al Hiyar Tunnel, marks a significant addition to the emirate's growing list of urban development projects.
The inauguration ceremony saw Sheikh Sultan, accompanied by Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, the Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, and Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, the Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, unveil a commemorative plaque marking the lake's launch.
Al Hefaiyah Lake serves a dual purpose: acting as a strategic water reservoir for the city's residents while simultaneously enhancing the environmental diversity of the Kalba region. The picturesque lake, spanning an area of 132,000 square meters, boasts a 3.17-kilometer dual-lane road encircling its perimeter. This scenic route provides a delightful path for residents and tourists to stroll and take in the captivating mountain views surrounding the lake.
Catering to families, the development project also incorporates a dedicated children's play area measuring 620 square meters. This thoughtfully designed space allows youngsters to enjoy themselves in a safe and stimulating environment while parents relax and appreciate the serene atmosphere.
