The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has issued a weather advisory for the United Arab Emirates, predicting a period of unsettled weather conditions with the potential for scattered showers and thunderstorms across the country from Monday to Wednesday.
The forecast indicates that convective cloud formations, a type of cloud associated with rising air and atmospheric instability, will begin to develop over coastal and internal areas on Monday afternoon. These clouds may bring rainfall accompanied by lightning and thunder in some locations.
Conditions are expected to intensify further from Monday evening through Tuesday afternoon. Unstable weather patterns are forecast to originate in the western regions before moving eastward, impacting Abu Dhabi, the northern emirates, and the eastern coast. These areas can expect heavier concentrations of convective clouds, leading to rainfall of varying intensities. The NCM also warns of the possibility of lightning, thunder, and even hail in isolated pockets.
Wednesday will see a continuation of cloud cover and potential rain showers over the eastern and northern parts of the UAE, with a gradual decrease in cloud formation anticipated by nightfall.
The NCM's weather advisory comes as a timely reminder for residents to stay informed about the latest forecasts and exercise caution during these unsettled weather conditions. People are advised to be aware of potential risks associated with heavy rain, such as flash flooding and reduced visibility on the roads.
