The Abu Dhabi Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Team (ECDM) convened a meeting led by Staff Major General Pilot Faris Khalaf Al Mazrouei, Abu Dhabi Police Chief and ECDM Chairman. The focus of the discussion was on evaluating the preparedness of local entities to effectively respond to impending adverse weather conditions forecasted for the emirate.

The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has predicted moderate to heavy rain showers accompanied by lightning and thunderstorms in some areas. The potential for hailstorms also exists. These conditions are expected to last until May 5th, 2024.

In anticipation of the disruptive weather, the ECDM is prioritizing proactive measures to safeguard public safety and minimize property damage. The meeting served as a platform to assess the current state of readiness among various government departments and emergency response units within Abu Dhabi.
