National Petroleum Constructions Company Clinches Multi-Million Dollar Saudi Aramco Deal

The National Petroleum Constructions Company (NPCC) from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has secured a significant contract with Saudi Aramco, the state-owned oil giant of Saudi Arabia. The agreement, valued at 1. 2 billion dirhams (approximately $326 million), entails engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) services for Saudi Aramco's Al Safaniya oilfields.

This win marks a continuation of the strong ties between the UAE's construction sector and Saudi Arabia's oil industry. NPCC officials expressed their delight at the collaboration, highlighting its contribution to the flourishing relationship between the two nations.

The contract details encompass the construction of offshore platforms, crucial for oil and gas extraction activities. Additionally, the project involves the development of two pipelines that will transport the extracted crude oil to a gas separation plant.

NPCC will also be responsible for installing a dedicated 20-kilometer subsea cable to ensure a reliable power supply for the offshore platforms. This comprehensive project is expected to significantly bolster Saudi Aramco's oil production capabilities.

Hussain Jassem Al Nowais, Chairman of the Board at NPCC, emphasized the importance of this contract. He stated that it not only strengthens the existing partnership between NPCC and Saudi Aramco but also reinforces the company's position as a frontrunner in the regional oil and gas construction sector.

The successful bid is anticipated to pave the way for further collaboration between the two entities. Aqeel Abdullah Madhi, NPCC's Managing Director and CEO, revealed the company's plans to expand its operations within Saudi Arabia. This expansion could involve establishing a manufacturing facility, a training center, and an offshore support unit to cater to the growing demand for NPCC's expertise in the region.

The project is expected to generate substantial economic benefits for both nations. The construction phase will create job opportunities, while the operational phase will contribute to Saudi Arabia's oil production targets. This collaboration between NPCC and Saudi Aramco exemplifies the growing strategic partnership between the UAE and Saudi Arabia, with the potential to significantly influence the regional oil and gas industry.
