Dubai Sets Ambitious Target for Land Transport Sector in 2030 Strategy

Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has unveiled its "Land Transport Strategy 2030, " outlining a roadmap for the sector to become a significant economic driver. The strategy sets a target of AED 16. 8 billion for the land transport and logistics sector's direct contribution to Dubai's economy by 2030. This ambitious goal represents a doubling of the sector's current economic impact.

The strategy goes beyond simply increasing revenue. It emphasizes sustainability and technological advancement. A key objective is to reduce carbon emissions in the land transport sector by 30% within the next six years. This aligns with Dubai's broader commitment to environmental responsibility and its vision for a greener future.

Technological innovation is another pillar of the "Land Transport Strategy 2030. " The RTA aims to increase the adoption of technology by 75% across the sector. This includes initiatives to integrate data analytics and digital solutions into various aspects of land transport and logistics. Streamlining operations, optimizing routes, and improving efficiency are all expected outcomes of this technological push.

The strategy also recognizes the importance of public-private partnerships. The RTA plans to collaborate with private companies to invest in and develop the land transport sector. This collaborative approach is expected to unlock new opportunities and accelerate growth. Additionally, the strategy emphasizes support for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) within the commercial transport sector. By providing affordable technologies and fostering a business-friendly environment, the RTA aims to empower SMEs to play a more significant role.

Mattar Al Tayer, Director General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of the RTA, highlighted the strategy's alignment with Dubai's vision of becoming a global leader in finance, business, and the overall economy. He emphasized that the plan supports the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33), which aims to position Dubai among the top three economic cities in the world.

The "Land Transport Strategy 2030" represents a comprehensive and ambitious vision for the future of Dubai's land transport sector. By focusing on economic growth, sustainability, and technological advancement, the RTA aims to transform the sector into a powerful engine for Dubai's continued economic success.
