The Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) in Abu Dhabi has unveiled its operational plans for the upcoming Eid al-Fitr holiday period. The announcement aims to ensure residents and visitors have a smooth and convenient travel experience during the festive season.
Customer Service Adjustments
During the Eid al-Fitr holidays, ITC's Customer Happiness Centres across Abu Dhabi will be closed. However, residents can still access a variety of ITC services through the organization's website and mobile applications, Darb and Darbi. The services will also be available via the TAMM platform, Abu Dhabi's digital government services portal.
For urgent inquiries, a 24/7 helpline operated by the Department of Municipalities and Transport will be available. Additionally, residents can contact the dedicated Taxi Call Centre to request taxi services.
Free Parking and Toll Relief
Motorists can rejoice as MAWAQiF surface parking will be free of charge throughout the Eid al-Fitr holiday. This free parking window starts on the first day of Eid and extends until the following morning. It includes parking spaces at the Musaffah M-18 truck parking lot. The ITC urges drivers to park responsibly and avoid blocking traffic flow or occupying residential parking spaces during restricted hours.
The Darb toll system will also be waived during the Eid al-Fitr holidays. However, toll charges will resume after the holidays during peak hours to manage traffic flow effectively.
Public Bus Services
Public bus services in Abu Dhabi, including local and regional routes, will operate according to the regular weekend schedule throughout the Eid al-Fitr holidays. To cater to the anticipated surge in demand, the ITC will increase the number of regional bus trips during peak hours.
The exact dates for the Eid al-Fitr holidays will be announced closer to the time based on the lunar sighting of the crescent moon. However, the ITC's plans ensure a well-coordinated transportation network to facilitate resident and tourist travel during the festive period.
