UAE and Rittal Forge Alliance to Bolster Digital Landscape

The United Arab Emirates' (UAE) Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications Office has joined forces with Rittal, a global leader in industrial enclosures, power distribution, climate control, and IT infrastructure solutions, through a signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This strategic partnership aims to solidify the UAE's position as a digital frontrunner by fostering advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) and bolstering the nation's digital infrastructure through collaborative efforts on a global scale.

The MoU signing ceremony, which took place during the AI Retreat 2024 – the largest gathering of its kind dedicated to accelerating AI adoption – signifies a pivotal moment for the UAE's ambitious AI Strategy 2031. This national initiative seeks to establish the UAE as a preeminent global leader in the field of AI by the year 2031. The partnership between the UAE's AI office and Rittal brings together the expertise of a government entity dedicated to fostering technological innovation with the experience of a global industry leader, paving the way for significant advancements in the UAE's digital ecosystem.

Saqr Binghalib, Executive Director of the UAE's AI office, emphasized the importance of public-private partnerships in achieving the goals outlined in the UAE government's vision. He highlighted the MoU with Rittal as a prime example of such collaboration, stating that it will enable the exploration of various AI initiatives, enhance AI adoption and knowledge sharing, and ultimately contribute to strengthening the UAE's robust digital infrastructure.

Syed Tahir Nazir, Managing Director of Rittal FZE, the UAE-based subsidiary of the German multinational, echoed Binghalib's sentiments, expressing unwavering commitment to supporting the vision of the UAE's AI office. He outlined Rittal FZE's dedication to fostering capacity building, knowledge expansion, and technological advancements not only in AI but also in other smart applications. Nazir specifically mentioned support for programming in the fields of robotics and Industry 4. 0 systems and applications, along with a focus on promoting environmentally friendly technologies.

The collaborative efforts envisioned in the MoU extend beyond just bolstering the UAE's digital infrastructure.
