The Zayed Higher Organisation for People of Determination (ZHO), working alongside the Emirates Humanitarian City, has successfully concluded the second phase of its program providing medical care and rehabilitation services to People of Determination and injured Palestinians airlifted from the Gaza Strip for treatment in the United Arab Emirates. This initiative aligns with the directives of UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who authorized medical treatment for 2, 000 individuals, including 1, 000 children and 1, 000 cancer patients, from war-torn Gaza.
ZHO's program encompassed a comprehensive range of services, including specialized care and rehabilitation, medical evaluations, various therapeutic sessions, and the fitting of essential medical equipment like prosthetic limbs, wheelchairs, braces, and hearing aids.
"ZHO's involvement in this initiative reflects the UAE's unwavering commitment to alleviating the suffering of Gaza's civilian population, particularly women, children, and the elderly, who have borne the brunt of the escalating humanitarian crisis, " stated ZHO Secretary-General Abdullah Al Humaidan.
The UAE's humanitarian intervention comes amidst a protracted humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip, a densely populated Palestinian territory facing severe shortages of essential medical supplies, limited access to clean water, and a crippled infrastructure. The ongoing Israeli-Palestinian conflict has further exacerbated these challenges, with civilian casualties a tragic consequence.
The ZHO program offered a beacon of hope for those injured in the conflict and People of Determination struggling to access proper healthcare facilities within Gaza. The UAE's leadership in providing medical care and rehabilitation services highlights its unwavering commitment to supporting the Palestinian people and fostering regional stability.
