Abu Dhabi Mobility Expands Parking System Beyond Island

Abu Dhabi Mobility (AD Mobility) is set to implement its parking management system in Khalifa Commercial and Etihad Plaza areas. The new initiative, effective from Monday, will cover sectors SE48, SE45, and SW2. This expansion follows AD Mobility's mission to enhance transportation infrastructure across the emirate.

AD Mobility, formerly known as the Integrated Transport Centre (ITC), operates under the Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT). This rebranding aligns with Abu Dhabi’s broader strategy to become a leading global city through the development of a smart, sustainable, and safe mobility network. The new identity reflects a comprehensive vision, integrating land transport, aviation, and maritime activities while ensuring seamless connectivity and efficient services.

The parking system, part of the "Mawaqif" initiative, aims to optimize parking space management, reduce congestion, and promote better traffic flow. This system leverages state-of-the-art technology and intelligent solutions to provide a user-friendly experience for residents and visitors. It includes features such as real-time parking availability updates and electronic payment options, which are expected to significantly improve convenience and accessibility.

AD Mobility's broader objectives include enhancing road capacity, reducing commute times, and promoting sustainable transport options. Future plans involve expanding the bus fleet, introducing more cycling lanes, and developing an Intelligent Transport Management Centre (iTMC) that uses artificial intelligence to optimize traffic management and operational efficiency. The integration of AI is pivotal in achieving a streamlined and responsive transport system that can adapt to the growing needs of the emirate's population.

Additionally, AD Mobility is committed to environmental sustainability. Initiatives such as electrifying public buses, introducing water taxis, and expanding cycling infrastructure underscore their dedication to reducing the carbon footprint and fostering a greener urban environment. These efforts are not only aimed at enhancing the quality of life for residents but also at positioning Abu Dhabi as a model for future-ready, sustainable cities.

The introduction of the parking system in new areas is a step forward in AD Mobility's continuous effort to provide smart solutions that cater to the dynamic needs of Abu Dhabi's residents. By extending the Mawaqif system, the organization aims to alleviate parking challenges and enhance overall urban mobility.

For more information, residents and visitors are encouraged to visit AD Mobility's official website or contact their customer service for detailed guidance on using the new parking facilities. This initiative marks another milestone in Abu Dhabi's journey towards creating a connected, sustainable, and efficient transportation ecosystem.
