ADNOC and Nafis to Generate 13,500 Jobs for UAE Nationals by 2028

ADNOC and the Emirati Talent Competitiveness Council (ETCC), through the Nafis program, have announced a significant initiative to create 13,500 new private sector jobs for UAE nationals by 2028. This strategic partnership was unveiled at the Make it in the Emirates Forum, underscoring a commitment to boosting local employment and enhancing the skills of Emirati talent.

The initiative aims to unlock a plethora of opportunities within ADNOC’s extensive supply chain and beyond. This move builds on the success of ADNOC’s In-Country Value (ICV) program, which has already facilitated the creation of 5,000 private sector jobs for UAE nationals since its inception in 2018. By 2027, ADNOC and Nafis plan to add an additional 5,000 roles in advanced sectors such as nanotechnology, manufacturing, and machine learning.

Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology and ADNOC Managing Director and Group CEO, highlighted the importance of nurturing local talent. He emphasized that empowering UAE nationals to play pivotal roles in sustainable industrial development is a top priority. This focus on local talent is aligned with ADNOC’s broader strategy to remain a reliable supplier of lower-carbon energy while decarbonizing and future-proofing its business operations.

The Nafis program will also provide comprehensive training opportunities for 1,000 graduates within private companies operating in ADNOC’s supply chain. This is part of a broader effort to ensure Emiratis are well-equipped to succeed in their careers. Ghannam Butti Al Mazrouei, Secretary General of the ETCC, praised the rapid progress made since the first Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed last year, noting that job creation for Emiratis has accelerated significantly.

To further support this initiative, ADNOC has organized six private sector career weeks over the past year. These events have been instrumental in matching local talent with employment opportunities within ADNOC’s network of registered partners and suppliers. The collaboration aims to increase the rate of Emiratisation in the private sector, providing sustainable career opportunities for Emiratis.

The Make it in the Emirates Forum also featured a panel discussion on Emirati empowerment in the private sector, attended by over 800 young UAE nationals. The session included key figures such as His Excellency Omar Ahmed Suwaina Al Suwaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT), and Yaser Saeed Almazrouei, ADNOC Executive Director, People, Commercial & Corporate Support Directorate. The forum brought together representatives from some of the largest industrial companies to explore local manufacturing and investment opportunities in the UAE.

This initiative is a testament to ADNOC and Nafis’s shared vision of enhancing the skills and competitiveness of UAE nationals. By fostering such partnerships, they aim to create a dynamic and inclusive job market that supports the nation’s economic development and prosperity.
