Abu Dhabi Powerboat Team Gears Up for Tønsberg Challenge

Team Abu Dhabi is set to compete in the UIM F2 World Championship round in Tønsberg, Norway, with drivers Rashed Al-Qemzi and Mohammed Al-Mehairbi aiming for top positions. This marks the team's third entry in the F2 series, following strong performances in previous rounds. Both drivers, operating under the Abu Dhabi International Marine Sports Club (ADIMSC), have shown promising results, with Al-Qemzi finishing sixth and Al-Mehairbi 14th at Lake Lugano.

The Tønsberg Båtrace, a key event in the UIM F2 calendar, is expected to be highly competitive. Current championship leader Erik Edin holds a narrow lead over Pierre Lundin, with both aiming to extend their dominance. Team Abu Dhabi's participation is part of their broader strategy to gain experience and showcase their skills on an international stage.

The race in Tønsberg, Norway's oldest city, is organized by Re Motorsport with the support of the Norwegian Motorsport Federation. The event includes a series of activities leading up to the main race, such as scrutineering, a Speed Run, and a Match Run. The main event will see F2 boats compete in free practice, qualifying sessions, and the shoot-out for pole position.

Salem Al-Romaithi, assistant general manager of ADIMSC, emphasized the importance of these races in developing local talent and promoting Abu Dhabi globally. He expressed confidence in Al-Qemzi and Al-Mehairbi, noting their rapid progress and impressive lap times in both Formula and Endurance racing.

As Team Abu Dhabi prepares for the Tønsberg race, the drivers are focused on building upon their past performances and aiming for podium finishes. The championship standings are tight, with each race playing a crucial role in determining the overall winner. This event is not only a test of speed and skill but also a showcase of the strategic and technical prowess of the teams involved.
