flynas Records 47% Passenger Growth in First Half of 2024

Saudi Arabia’s leading low-cost airline, flynas, has experienced significant growth in the first half of 2024, welcoming over 7 million passengers on its flights. This marks a 47% increase in passenger numbers and a 37% rise in seat capacity compared to the same period last year.

Bander Almohanna, CEO and Managing Director of flynas, attributes this record performance to the airline’s strategic growth plans, which include upgrading its fleet, increasing capacity, and expanding its global network. These efforts align with the objectives of the National Civil Aviation Strategy, which aims to connect the Kingdom with 250 international destinations, accommodate 330 million passengers, and host 100 million tourists annually by 2030.

In addition to passenger growth, flynas has enhanced its fleet by adding 25 new A320neo aircraft over the past 18 months, bringing the total number of aircraft to 60. This expansion supports the airline's goal of achieving its growth-oriented strategic objectives and plays a crucial role in its operations, creating hundreds of new jobs for Saudis.

flynas has also been actively supporting the Pilgrims Experience Program (PEP), successfully transporting over 100,000 pilgrims from 20 countries in the first half of the year. The airline’s commitment to increasing seat capacity to domestic summer destinations demonstrates its role in promoting and empowering the tourism sector in Saudi Arabia.

With over 1,800 weekly flights to more than 70 domestic and international destinations, flynas continues to expand its presence in key markets. The airline has also formed partnerships with other carriers to further extend its network.

As flynas moves forward, it remains dedicated to its strategy, “We Connect the World to the Kingdom,” and continues to contribute to the ambitious goals set by Saudi Vision 2030.
