Hackers Target Chrome Users with Credential-Stealing Malware

A new wave of cyberattacks is threatening Google Chrome users through an inventive malware method aimed at stealing their credentials. Cybersecurity experts have flagged the latest malware, Amadey, which manipulates users into entering their Google passwords through a strategy rooted in social engineering and frustration tactics.

Amadey works by initiating a kiosk-mode browser on a victim’s system, locking them into a full-screen Google login page with no visible exit options. Traditional exit commands, such as the Escape key or F11, are disabled, making it difficult for victims to close the window. Trapped in this inescapable environment, users are pressured into providing their Google credentials, which are then intercepted and sent to the hackers.
