Qatar Airways Boosts Saudi Arabian Network with New Flights

Qatar Airways is expanding its operations in Saudi Arabia by resuming flights to Abha and increasing its service frequency to NEOM. Starting January 2, 2025, the airline will offer two weekly flights to Abha International Airport, marking a return to the southwestern city. Additionally, Qatar Airways will enhance its NEOM service, raising the number of weekly flights from two to four during the winter season.

The strategic move underscores Qatar Airways' commitment to strengthening its presence in the Saudi Arabian market and catering to growing demand. Abha, a vital regional hub in southwestern Saudi Arabia, will benefit from direct connectivity to Doha, facilitating easier travel for both business and leisure travelers.

The resumption of flights to Abha comes as part of Qatar Airways' broader strategy to expand its network in key markets. The city, known for its picturesque landscapes and cultural heritage, is expected to attract increased tourist traffic and enhance regional connectivity. This addition is particularly timely as Saudi Arabia continues to develop its tourism infrastructure and diversify its economy.

NEOM, the futuristic city being developed in northwestern Saudi Arabia, is seeing heightened interest and investment. The increase in flight frequency from Qatar Airways is aligned with NEOM's growing importance as a business and innovation hub. The enhanced connectivity is anticipated to support the influx of international professionals and investors visiting the city for various projects and developments.

Qatar Airways' expansion reflects its ongoing efforts to meet the needs of its passengers and support regional economic growth. The airline's strategy includes not only expanding its route network but also enhancing the quality of its services and maintaining strong ties with key destinations.
