Saudi Aramco unveils 6 digital initiatives to boost AI innovation

Saudi Aramco announced a series of groundbreaking initiatives aimed at advancing digital innovation and the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) across its operations. These efforts, revealed at the Global AI Summit in Riyadh, highlight Aramco's commitment to driving AI development on a large scale and fostering collaboration with key global players in the tech sector.

During the summit, which took place at the King Abdulaziz International Conference Center, Aramco signed several key Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with industry leaders. These include agreements with Cerebras Systems and FuriosaAI, focusing on supercomputing and AI capabilities. The partnerships aim to revolutionize Aramco’s AI infrastructure by deploying advanced AI technologies that can enhance everything from facility monitoring to predictive maintenance.

Aramco also introduced its AI supercomputer, a key part of its broader strategy to harness the power of AI to optimize operations. Powered by NVIDIA’s leading-edge graphical processing units, this system is set to accelerate tasks such as analyzing drilling plans and geological data, ultimately supporting more sustainable oil extraction methods.
