UAE-Serbia CEPA to drive mutual economic growth, says Minister

The UAE and Serbia have taken a significant step toward boosting economic cooperation through the signing of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA). This accord is expected to accelerate trade and investment between the two nations, creating new opportunities for businesses and expanding economic ties across key sectors. UAE Minister of Economy, Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri, hailed the agreement as a milestone in strengthening bilateral relations and fostering sustainable growth in both economies.

During the "Doing Business in Serbia" forum held in Belgrade, the Minister emphasized the potential for UAE-Serbia CEPA to unlock vast opportunities for companies and entrepreneurs, particularly in sectors like energy, logistics, and technology. His remarks were echoed by Serbian Minister of Economy, Adrijana Mesarović, who reiterated the importance of such strategic partnerships in driving Serbia’s growth and international presence.

The trade volume between the two countries reached AED 233.9 million in non-oil trade in 2023, marking a strong foundation for future collaborations. The UAE has been proactive in strengthening its economic ties with Serbia, highlighted by a number of business forums and the creation of channels to foster cross-border collaboration. The Dubai International Chamber's recent mission to Serbia saw over 180 business meetings conducted, underscoring the dynamic engagement between companies from both countries.
