Passenger vans targeted in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa gun attack

A gun attack on passenger vans in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province left at least 38 people dead and 11 others injured. The incident occurred in the Lower Kurram district, where attackers ambushed the convoy of vehicles, which included approximately 200 vans. Officials suggested the attack began with an assault on police personnel before targeting civilians, with authorities suspecting terrorism due to the scale and nature of the violence.

Witness accounts and reports indicate the attackers opened fire from both sides of the convoy in the Ochat area. Among the injured were several women, and medical personnel in nearby hospitals confirmed fatalities and severe injuries requiring immediate referrals to Peshawar facilities for advanced care.
