QIIB has been recognised for its leadership in corporate payment solutions, notably as the first bank in Qatar to introduce a Visa debit card specifically designed for SMEs. This initiative offers businesses advanced and convenient payment options, adding significant value to their operations.
In June 2024, Visa acknowledged QIIB's efforts by awarding the bank for 'Excellence in Corporate Payment Solutions'. The award was presented to QIIB's Head of Business Development, Khaled Abdul Rahman Al Shaibei, by Visa’s Head of Financial Institutions in Qatar, Osama Eid, during a ceremony at QIIB’s headquarters.
Al Shaibei expressed gratitude for the recognition, stating, "We thank Visa for granting us the 'Excellence Award' in payment solutions for businesses. Our strong partnership with Visa permits us to adopt multiple innovative approaches that positively affect our different customer segments."
Visa's Head of Financial Institutions in Qatar, Osama Eid, highlighted the benefits of the partnership, noting that the Visa debit card helps SMEs seamlessly manage daily operations, pay for goods and services, build a financial footprint, and cover business and travel expenses at Visa’s more than 130 million merchant locations worldwide.
This partnership aligns with Qatar's broader strategy to digitise its economy, reflecting a commitment to providing advanced financial solutions that meet the evolving needs of customers.
QIIB has a history of collaborating with Visa on various initiatives. In November 2023, the bank launched a promotional campaign in partnership with Visa, offering Visa credit cardholders the chance to win packages to attend AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023™ matches. This campaign was part of QIIB's efforts to engage with the community and support sports activities in Qatar.
