Sharjah and Neuchâtel Forge New Economic Partnership

Sharjah and Neuchâtel have embarked on a strategic initiative to enhance bilateral economic relations and explore mutual investment opportunities. A high-profile business roundtable, co-hosted by the Sharjah FDI Office and the Consulate General of the UAE in Geneva, convened at The Chedi Al Bait Hotel in Sharjah. The event attracted government officials, business council representatives, investors, and industry leaders from both regions, aiming to strengthen ties in sectors such as advanced manufacturing, technology, and sustainable energy.

Jasim Al Abdouli, Consul General of the UAE in Geneva, highlighted the robust diplomatic and economic connections between the UAE and Switzerland, emphasizing a shared vision for sustainable growth and cross-border innovation. Mohamed Juma Al Musharrkh, CEO of Invest in Sharjah, underscored Sharjah's strategic position as a gateway to regional and global markets, offering a conducive environment for foreign investments.

The roundtable featured presentations by Matthieu Aubert, Director of Neuchâtel Service of the Economy , and Marwan Alichla, Director of Investment Promotion and Support at Invest in Sharjah. Both officials outlined the investment prospects in their respective regions, focusing on collaborative opportunities in manufacturing and technological innovation.

Currently, approximately 250 Swiss companies operate within Sharjah's mainland and its seven free zones, benefiting from tax exemptions and streamlined logistics. Bilateral trade between Sharjah and Switzerland has reached around AED 84 million over the past year, reflecting strengthened ties in key sectors.
