Khalifa Port, renowned for its deep-water access and multi-purpose capabilities, handles a diverse range of cargo, including general cargo, containers, roll-on/roll-off , dry bulk, liquid, and gas. The addition of this petroleum storage terminal is expected to further enhance the port's capacity and service offerings, solidifying its position as a key logistics hub in the region.
This development aligns with AD Ports Group's ongoing initiatives to expand and diversify the services at Khalifa Port. Notably, in December 2024, the port witnessed the inauguration of CMA Terminals Khalifa Port, a container terminal managed by a joint venture between CMA CGM Group’s subsidiary CMA Terminals and Abu Dhabi Ports. This AED3.1 billion facility increased the port's annual container capacity by 23%, approaching a total of 10 million twenty-foot equivalent units . The terminal incorporates advanced infrastructure, including automated gates and integrated systems aimed at enhancing efficiency and sustainability.
