ADFD Invests AED 440 Million in Luxury Hotel Near Giza Pyramids

The Abu Dhabi Fund for Development has announced a significant investment of AED 440 million to develop the Sofitel Legend Pyramids Giza, a five-star luxury hotel situated near Egypt's iconic Giza pyramids. This initiative aims to bolster Egypt's tourism sector by offering high-end accommodations adjacent to one of the world's most renowned archaeological sites.

The Sofitel Legend Pyramids Giza will feature 302 rooms equipped with modern amenities, complemented by a variety of international restaurants and entertainment facilities. The hotel's strategic location near the Giza pyramids is expected to attract tourists worldwide, enhancing Egypt's appeal as a premier travel destination.

The project's financing is a collaborative effort between the UAE and Egyptian private sectors. ADFD, through the Abu Dhabi Tourism Investment Company , is contributing 84.28% of the project's capital. Other stakeholders include Abu Dhabi National Hotels with a 10.22% share, Misr Hotels Company holding 2.73%, the Egyptian General Company for Tourism & Hotels with 2.37%, and Overseas Tourism Investment Company owning 0.4%.

The foundation stone for the hotel was laid by Mohamed Saif Al Suwaidi, Director General of ADFD, alongside Engineer Adel Al-Najjar, Governor of Giza, marking the commencement of this landmark project. Al Suwaidi emphasized that the Sofitel Legend Pyramids Giza represents a pivotal step in strengthening Egypt’s tourism infrastructure, reflecting ADFD's commitment to sustainable investments in promising markets.

The hotel will be managed by Accor Group, a globally recognized hospitality company, under the prestigious Sofitel Legend brand. This partnership is anticipated to elevate the standard of luxury hospitality in the region, blending Egypt's rich cultural heritage with world-class service.

Governor Al-Najjar expressed gratitude towards ADFD for its ongoing support, highlighting that the project exemplifies successful investment collaboration between Egypt and the UAE.
