Qcloud Strengthens Presence in Qatar's Free Zones with Expanded Operations

Qatar Free Zones Authority and Qcloud have formalized an agreement to enhance Qcloud's operations and establish a new head office within the Business Innovation Park at Ras Bufontas Free Zone. This strategic move underscores Qcloud's commitment to bolstering the region's digital infrastructure.

The agreement was signed by Abdulla Hamad Al-Binali, Acting Chief Operating Officer at QFZ, and Zahid Saddiq, Founder and CEO of Qcloud, during the Web Summit in Qatar 2025. This partnership aims to drive innovation in data center solutions both within Qatar and the broader region.

Since its inception in QFZ in 2020, Qcloud has experienced significant growth. Beginning with a modest local office, the company expanded to a 150-square-meter space, and is now committing to a new head office exceeding 300 square meters within Qatar's Free Zone. This expansion reflects Qcloud's dedication to providing high-performance and secure data center solutions that meet international standards.

Collaborating closely with prominent data center developers and operators in Qatar, including MEEZA, Quantum Switch, and Ooredoo, Qcloud has demonstrated its expertise in delivering advanced data center solutions. This collaboration has been instrumental in enhancing Qatar's digital infrastructure.

Al-Binali commented on the expansion, stating, "Qcloud's growth in Qatar's Free Zones exemplifies our commitment to strengthening the nation's digital infrastructure. Through this partnership, we are elevating the standards of high-performance, scalable, and energy-efficient data centers that support the growth of Qatar's digital economy."

Saddiq expressed gratitude for QFZ's support, noting, "Qcloud has greatly benefited from QFZ's strategic assistance, business-friendly environment, and dedication to fostering innovation. We view QFZ as a valued partner and anticipate continued collaboration to drive technological advancements in the free zones, mainland Qatar, and beyond."

In alignment with its mission to advance Qatar's digital landscape, QFZ recently hosted an event in collaboration with the Gulf Data Center Association , the largest data center community in the Arabian Gulf. Held at the Business Innovation Park in Ras Bufontas Free Zone, the event featured Saddiq as a guest speaker. He addressed the challenges and opportunities in developing data center infrastructure in Qatar, emphasizing the importance of adopting hybrid design methodologies for new projects and investing in sustainable energy solutions.

Saddiq also praised QFZ's vision and commitment to developing dedicated zones with robust power infrastructure, highlighting its role in prioritizing data centers for future scalability.

This expansion and partnership with Qcloud are integral to QFZ's broader strategy of fostering strategic alliances with both international and local enterprises. By cultivating an ecosystem that promotes innovation and progress, QFZ continues to act as a catalyst for the growth of data center companies in Qatar.

The collaboration between QFZ and Qcloud signifies a pivotal step in enhancing Qatar's position as a regional hub for digital infrastructure. As the demand for advanced data solutions escalates, such partnerships are essential in meeting the technological needs of businesses and consumers alike.
