Gulf Air and Formula 1 Mark Milestones at Bahrain Grand Prix

Gulf Air and Formula 1 commemorated their 75th anniversaries with a joint celebration at the Bahrain International Circuit during the Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix 2025, held from April 11 to 13. The event, marking the fourth round of the 2025 FIA Formula 1 World Championship, featured a blend of high-octane racing and cultural festivities, underscoring Bahrain's significance in the global motorsport arena.

Gulf Air, the national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain, has been the title sponsor of the Bahrain Grand Prix since its inception in 2004, making it the longest-standing partnership in Formula 1 history. The airline renewed its title sponsorship through 2027, reinforcing its commitment to the sport and the region. Jeffrey Goh, Gulf Air Group Chief Executive Officer, highlighted the partnership's role in promoting Bahrain's global brand recognition and economic growth.

The Grand Prix weekend attracted a diverse international audience, drawn by the promise of thrilling races and a vibrant festival atmosphere. The Bahrain International Circuit, often referred to as 'The Home of Motorsport in the Middle East,' hosted support races including the FIA Formula 2 Championship, FIA Formula 3 Championship, and the Porsche Carrera Cup Middle East, providing a comprehensive motorsport experience.

A notable feature of the event was Gulf Air's Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner flypast, performed using Sustainable Aviation Fuel , demonstrating the airline's commitment to environmental sustainability. The flypast, witnessed by thousands of spectators, symbolized the fusion of tradition and innovation that characterizes both Gulf Air and Formula 1.

The 2025 season also saw significant changes in the driver lineup, with Lewis Hamilton making his debut for Ferrari, Carlos Sainz moving to Williams, and Esteban Ocon joining Haas. Additionally, six drivers, including Kimi Antonelli and Oliver Bearman, made their full-time Formula 1 debuts, signaling a new era for the sport.

Beyond the track, Gulf Air and the Bahrain International Circuit organized a charity auction in collaboration with Mazad, offering premium flight packages and exclusive experiences. Proceeds from the auction were directed to the Royal Humanitarian Foundation, reflecting the event's commitment to social responsibility.
