Hilton and Mabanee Collaborate to Establish Kuwait's Largest Coastal Resort

Kuwaiti real estate developer Mabanee has entered into a KD5.1 million agreement with Touristic Enterprises Company to manage and operate a new resort in Kuwait City. The forthcoming Hilton-operated resort will occupy a 242,436-square-meter area in the Al-Mangaf beach region. This 17-year contract, covering Plage 13—formerly known as Hilton Mangaf—commences upon the resort's operational launch.

Touristic Enterprises Company, recognized for its contributions to Kuwait's tourism sector, views this partnership as a strategic move to enhance the nation's entertainment and tourism offerings. A company spokesperson emphasized that this contract marks an initial step in fostering strategic alliances with the private sector to advance the tourism and entertainment industries.

Mabanee, a prominent real estate investor and developer, is known for projects like The Avenues Mall in Kuwait City. The company has a history of collaborating with international brands to deliver high-quality developments. In 2016, Mabanee partnered with Hilton to introduce two new hotel brands, Conrad Hotels & Resorts and Hilton Garden Inn, as part of The Avenues Mall's expansion. These hotels were integrated into the mall's fourth phase, aiming to enhance the shopping experience by offering on-site accommodation options.

The forthcoming resort in Al-Mangaf is poised to become Kuwait's largest coastal resort, featuring an extensive beachfront along the Arabian Gulf. Hilton's existing Kuwait Resort already offers 1.75 kilometers of private beaches, providing guests with opportunities for relaxation and various water activities. The new resort is expected to build upon this foundation, offering state-of-the-art facilities and luxurious accommodations to cater to both leisure and business travelers.

This development aligns with Kuwait's broader efforts to diversify its economy by bolstering the tourism sector. The government has been actively pursuing projects to enhance the nation's appeal as a tourist destination, including the development of new entertainment facilities and the renovation of existing ones. For instance, the Kuwait Touristic Enterprises Company has been involved in projects such as the Khairan Park and the Al-Nuwaiseeb entertainment facility, aiming to provide a variety of recreational options for residents and visitors alike.

The collaboration between Mabanee and Hilton reflects a strategic approach to leveraging international expertise to elevate Kuwait's hospitality landscape. By introducing globally recognized brands and high-quality developments, Kuwait aims to position itself as a competitive destination in the regional tourism market. The new resort in Al-Mangaf is anticipated to contribute significantly to this vision, offering a luxurious coastal retreat that meets international standards.

As the project progresses, stakeholders are optimistic about its potential impact on Kuwait's tourism industry. The resort is expected to attract a diverse clientele, including tourists from neighboring Gulf countries and international visitors seeking a unique coastal experience. The emphasis on luxury and quality aligns with the preferences of discerning travelers, positioning the resort as a premier destination within the region.
