Kuwait and Saudi Arabia Forge Partnership to Enhance Civil Aviation Cooperation

Kuwait's Directorate General of Civil Aviation and Saudi Arabia's General Authority of Civil Aviation have signed a memorandum of cooperation aimed at strengthening technical collaboration and expertise exchange in the civil aviation sector. The agreement seeks to bolster bilateral relations and advance the aviation industries of both nations.

The MoC outlines several key areas of cooperation, including the exchange of scientific and practical expertise, development of industrial capabilities for vertical take-off and landing aircraft, unmanned aircraft systems , and air traffic systems for unmanned aircraft. Additionally, the agreement emphasizes the establishment of working groups to coordinate relevant activities and initiatives, as well as the organization of workshops, training programs, and knowledge-sharing sessions to enhance expertise in the field.

This collaboration aligns with the broader objectives of both countries to enhance their civil aviation sectors and contribute to regional and international aviation safety and security standards. The partnership reflects a commitment to fostering innovation and developing advanced air mobility solutions, positioning Kuwait and Saudi Arabia as leaders in aviation technology within the region.

The signing of this MoC is part of a series of initiatives undertaken by both nations to expand their international partnerships in the aviation sector. For instance, Saudi Arabia has recently signed agreements with various countries, including Lithuania, to enhance air transport services and cooperation. Similarly, Kuwait's DGCA has engaged in agreements with entities such as the Kuwait Institute for Judicial and Legal Studies to train legal personnel in civil aviation, demonstrating a commitment to comprehensive sector development.
