Mohamed El Araby Takes Helm as L’Oréal Egypt's First Egyptian Managing Director

L’Oréal Egypt has appointed Mohamed El Araby as its new Managing Director, marking the first time an Egyptian national has assumed this leadership role. El Araby brings over 14 years of experience in brand and commercial management within the cosmetics industry.

El Araby's journey with L’Oréal began in 2009, where he has held various positions, including Business Unit Manager for Makeup in Egypt and Marketing Manager for L'Oréal Paris in the Africa and Middle East region. His most recent role was General Manager for L’Oréal Dermatological Beauty in the Middle East.

El Araby graduated from the American University in Cairo in 2003 with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and later earned an MBA in Marketing from the same institution in 2006. He is also a certified trainer from the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee, USA.

L’Oréal Egypt, established in 2009, has expanded its operations significantly over the years. The company launched its factory in the 10th of Ramadan Industrial City in 2013, which serves as a regional hub, exporting 85% of its production to 19 countries across the Middle East and North Africa. The factory has attracted investments totaling €100 million since its inception.

The company has been recognized for its commitment to corporate social responsibility and sustainable development. In 2021, L’Oréal Egypt was honored by the General Authority for Investment for its leadership in these areas. The company has implemented programs such as the “L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science” initiative and the “Beauty for a Better Life” program, focusing on empowering women and promoting sustainability.

El Araby's appointment comes at a time when L’Oréal Egypt is experiencing dynamic growth and has plans to expand its operations further. The company aims to increase its production capacity to meet the rising demand in both local and regional markets. The Egyptian market is considered one of the most promising in the region, and L’Oréal is keen on empowering the local industry by relying on local suppliers for packaging and raw materials.
