The partnership introduces the Intelligence Delivery Network , a distributed global network featuring 180 points of presence, over 200 terabits per second of network capacity, and more than 14,000 peering partners. This infrastructure is designed to facilitate low-latency and secure delivery of AI workloads at the edge, a crucial factor for the broader adoption of AI inferencing applications. The IDN leverages Northern Data’s high-performance computing infrastructure and Gcore’s Everywhere Inference software and networking architecture.
Gcore's Everywhere Inference platform offers a GPU-as-a-service software layer, providing enterprise clients and model developers with tools such as Managed Kubernetes and an AI model library. This technology supports the deployment of both open-source and custom-built AI models, enabling users to scale their AI solutions efficiently.
Aroosh Thillainathan, Founder and CEO of Northern Data Group, emphasized the significance of the collaboration, stating that combining Northern Data’s expertise in high-performance computing and data center infrastructure with Gcore’s software innovation will accelerate the delivery of AI infrastructure across a globally distributed compute network. He highlighted the rapid evolution of AI solutions and the partnership's role in the next phase of AI adoption.
André Reitenbach, CEO of Gcore, noted that the partnership would grant Gcore and its enterprise customers access to one of the largest liquid-cooled GPU clusters and substantial data center capacity worldwide. He expressed enthusiasm about supporting customers on their AI journey in Europe and beyond by leveraging the combined software, network, and engineering capabilities.
