Al Mansoori also underscored the significance of early detection, stating that timely intervention facilitates the development of academic and social skills, thereby easing integration into society.
In a related development, Emirates Airline announced its commitment to becoming the world's first Autism Certified Airline. The airline plans to train over 30,000 cabin crew and ground staff to better serve passengers with autism and sensory sensitivities. This initiative includes the introduction of digital sensory guides and in-flight sensory products designed to enhance the travel experience for neurodiverse passengers. These efforts align with Dubai's objective to become the first Certified Autism Destination in the Eastern Hemisphere.
The Dubai Autism Center has also launched the Autism-Friendly Certification Program , an initiative aimed at recognising organisations in the public and private sectors that adopt higher accessibility standards for individuals with autism. This programme seeks to foster a more inclusive community by encouraging establishments to cater to the needs of neurodiverse individuals.
The DAC introduced the Autism-Friendly Kit Initiative, providing resources to various organisations to assist them in creating accommodating environments for individuals with autism. These kits include tools and guidelines to help organisations understand and implement autism-friendly practices.
